Frequently asked questions
Is the AI included in every edition?
The AI extension is an add-on to LogMan.io PLUS and LogMan.io SIEM — the editions with security detections for it to investigate. Moving up from LogMan.io is a licence change, never a migration.
Can LogMan.io replace a legacy log platform or SIEM?
Yes. LogMan.io ingests from the same sources a legacy platform does — Syslog, APIs, agents — and stores everything in open, portable formats, so a migration is a matter of pointing your sources at the new collectors and importing history. Most replacements are driven by the per-gigabyte licensing and hardware cost of the incumbent rather than by features.
Does LogMan.io meet the requirements of the NIS2 Directive?
LogMan.io provides the tamper-proof, digitally signed retention and continuous monitoring that NIS2 expects, and LogMan.io Lite has been independently verified as NIS2-compliant by a certified court expert in cybersecurity. Compliance also depends on your own processes, which our engineers will walk through with you.
What deployment options are available?
On-premises, air-gapped, in your private cloud, or fully managed by TeskaLabs inside the EU. It is the same product in every case — the deployment model is your choice, not a different edition.
How does the platform prevent log tampering or data loss?
Archived logs are digitally signed and written to immutable storage, so any alteration is detectable and the archive stands up as evidence. Ingestion is designed for zero data drop under load, and the distributed architecture means a node failure costs you capacity, not events.
How much hardware do I actually need?
Far less than a legacy platform at the same volume — that is the point of the hardware acceleration. Sizing depends on your events per second and retention period; tell us both and we will size it with you.
